Casa Grec **** €25

Maybe the best restaurant in Kefallonia, this rustic-decorated restaurant offers great dishes at very cheap prices. Service, environment, food, they were all excellent.

Altamira ** €45

This is a mix of 4 different cuisines (Mexican, Indian, Asian, Middle-Eastern). The food is fairly good, as you get an idea on how each cuisine tastes like. However by no means you can call the dishes "traditional" - it's just a first taste. Be careful not to mix many different dishes together though. I found the place rather expensive for the quality of food they offer.

Galaxy Bar ***** €20

What an awesome bar! At the top of the Hilton Hotel, it has an outdoor patio, great views of the Acropolis as well as most of Athens. Super-expensive (a coke costs €7.20), but it's definitely worth going at least once. Probably my favorite bar in Athens. Thumbs way up!

Noodle Bar ** €11

Cheap, fast-food type asian restaurant chain, but with some unexpectedly high-quality dishes (such as the fried rice with vegetables).

Rosebud *** €7

Excellent warm and cozy cafe-bar in the heart of Kolonaki in central Athens. 

Base Grill **** €40

What a superb steakhouse - the owners are twins that have studied and perfected the process of serving a perfect steak (spalomprizola). They take care of all the steps, from growing and nurturing the animals to the exceptional cooking. The service is not great - they prefer to bring the meats medium-rare no matter what your preference. Also, the reservation game is a nightmare. However, it is probably the best steaksouse in Greece right now.

James Joyce Irish Pub **** €10

I absolutely love that place. It has a the look and feel of a real irish pub (minus the annoying customers that sometimes smoke inside). The drinks and food are also inspired from their UK counterparts. Great choice if you need a place to relax and have a drink in the center of Athens.

Maracana Grill ** €30

That's supposed to be a Brazilian all-you-can-eat fair, and the price you pay is relatively cheap for the amount of food you get. However they serve all their meats well done, without giving you an choice. The service is quite offensive and rude at times. And, above all, the meats are not of that great quality.

Barefoot Contessa *** €25

That's a very nice lunch/dinner place near the center of Kifissia. The dishes are light and very tasty, albeit quite expensive. Expect to pay over €30 for a regular dinner. The mastiha-flavored panacotta was to die for.
