Interesting place that has live music. The food is very good, but the service is cheesy and the band playing feels like it came out of a wedding reception.

This is a fairly authentic Persian restaurant. Although some dishes are not Persian per se, there are many quality options that come straight from the best Persian restaurants I've tried in the past. Especially that rice...!

Petite Fleur ** €6

This place is tiny (only ~10 tables) and offers organic ingredients (which explains the relatively high prices). The cholocate though wasn't up to my standards, and left a little dissapointed.

Jaipur Palace *** €30

Yes, there is an Indian restaurant in Athens, and in fact it's very very good. Authentic Indian dishes, spicy sauces (if you wish), friendly service, excellent ambience. A tad expensive but it is definitely worth it.

La Pasteria ** €15

Rock solid italian place with large varieties of pasta. Not the greatest or the most tasty, but a good choice if you happen to be around.

City Coctail Bar *** €10

Nice little drink spot in the heart of Kolonaki, it doesn't get crowded as early as other nearby places (and that's it's biggest advantage). Thanks Lemonia for the heads up!

Awesome place by the sea where you can enjoy good quality food and drinks. We saw the July full moon rising from across the sea, and it was simply amazing.

Very nice ambience is this american-style restaurant/bar where most dishes have names from famous celebrities. However the service is terrible and while the appetizers were awesome, the mains where average compared to those. They did have a proper cut of a rib-eye steak though!

Yes, this is a typical fast food. Expect grilled sandwiches, gyro, and very few tables to sit. But it is really tasty!

This is just a small place in a food hall but it contains the essence of Greek souvlaki. Fresh, with excellent side dishes. It is not the best souvlaki in the world, but I consider it the most typical one.

Yet another typical coffee place, right at the corner of the square so that you can see anyone that's passing by.

When the pizza slices served here are hot, this place in unbeatable. But sadly you can't count on that every time.

Great for food as well as for coffee, this amazing restaurant at the top floor in Pagkrati has great views. Especially in the summer you can sit outside in the patio and enjoy a nice warm evening. The Jack Daniel's series of dishes is to die for.

Soko Gelato *** €6

Yes, there is italian-style gelato in Athens. Albeit not perfect, there is a great variety of flavors and the quality on some of them is way above average. A must-try.

Pizza Hut *** €15

The Greek Pizza Hut is the best Pizza Hut I have ever tried. May it be the fresh ingredients, or the fact that it's not that industrialized, but especially when you dine at the restaurant the taste is superb. Yey!

Yet another souvlaki joint in Galatsi. Late night, nice souvlakia, and a teverna vibe. A typical fare.

Veikou street has a number of nice coffee shops along its stretch, and this is one of my favorites because of the super-comfortable couches.

You typical coffee place, very close to the NTUA campus. The people coming here are 90% students.

This incredible tiny joint - in the shape of a train wagon - serves superb crepes until very very very late night. Ideal to try after a night out. There is no sit-down service, but there is a small room with benches to sit down for a few minutes before you get going again.

Singore Pizza **** €15

One of the premier pizzas in Greece, this small chain located in Patra offers superb pizzas. They are probably influenced by the Italians just across the Adriatic sea!

Yes, this is one of the best souvlaki places in Lamia. Must-try, also offers delivery service.

Nice where you can sit outside. Also serves superb, creamy, super-thick hot chocolate.
